Beauty Star laser therapy is a safe, quick and effective method for removal of vascular lesions. The Beauty Star laser generates an intense beam of light. The laser light is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin (bright red blood cells carrying oxygen) causing decomposition or destruction by heat of unwanted cells while leaving healthy cells intact. Some patients report feeling a slight stinging sensation during the treatment followed by some redness and swelling. This usually subsides in 1-2 days. but normal daily activities can be resumed immediately. There will not be any purple skin discoloration or bruised appearance to the treated skin. Crust may develop next day on the pulse affected area which will last 1-2 weeks. Postoperative care is minimal. We may ask you to use a special antiseptic powder on the treated area for a few days and will suggest that you stay out of the sun for 6 weeks. Final treatment results should be evident within 4-6 weeks.

Why is Lyra the best solution?
The Lyra offers effective results while maintaining the normal appearance of the skin. It uses the best technology currently available for hair removal, offering outstanding results with the widest range of skin tones and hair colors. The laser beam penetrates your skin and gets absorbed in the hair follicle residing under the skin surface. The laser energy destroys the follicle with the heat that it generates. Because the laser beam is large in diameter, it affects a large number of hairs simultaneously.
What can I expect during the treatment?
Most patients experience a stinging, burning sensation when a laser pulse is delivered. To reduce discomfort, a cooling system automatically removes heat from the surface of your skin before, during and after the laser exposure. You will not need a general anesthesia or pain medication, but a topical anesthetic cream may be applied to sensitive areas.
How many treatments will be needed?
The number of treatments required to obtain optimal results varies with hair density, hair color, skin types, the treatment area and your hair growth cycle. The density of your hair and its growth cycle are affected by many things such as your age, ethnic background, hormones or medications. Laser treatments impair the growth capacity of hair follicles when they are in a growth cycle at the time of treatment. All hair follicles are not active at the same time. Depending upon the growth cycle of the follicles when the treatment is applied, several treatments with a few weeks in between may be required to obtain the desired effect.
The old fashioned ways of removing hair-shaving, tweezing, creams, waxing-are time consuming and short lasting. And although electrolysis can permanently remove hair, it is an extremely slow and painful method. But you don't have to settle for out-of-date solutions. Now you can obtain long-lasting results with laser hair removal treatments. The Laserscope Lyra laser system delivers long-pulse laser light down to the follicles, destroying them or impairing their growth. The laser beam is computer guided and passed through a cooling window to protect your skin. You are assured of gentle treatments that produce smooth results.
What should I expect following the treatment?
Once the treatment is complete, the area exposed to the laser is cleansed and you are free to return to your normal routine. Some patients may experience a slight reddening around hair follicles following the treatment, which typically disappears within a few minutes. It is always recommended to avoid sun exposure or to use sunscreen following the laser treatment. Hair follicles affected by the laser are lifeless and your body will attempt to cast them off over a period of time. It will seem that the hair continues to grow for one to two weeks after the procedure, but in fact these lifeless hairs will easily fall out.
